Pre-Release Guide

Port Inspection has not run live yet. This guide is built from game code analysis ahead of release. The fixed numbers — container count, Manifest cost, the guarantee thresholds, the reward tables and the Work Log payouts — are locked in configuration files and unlikely to change. The exact drop odds, the event calendar and the Inspection Pack contents are not published in the game and can only be confirmed once the event runs.

Anything estimated is marked as an estimate. We will update this guide with field-tested numbers after the first run.

01. The Freighter Loop

Every Manifest you spend pays out. That is the single most important thing to understand about this event: 24 of the 25 containers pay a common reward and the 25th holds your gift, so an inspection never returns nothing. You are not gambling for the gift — you are buying commons and collecting the gift along the way.

A freighter docks with 25 shipping containers laid out in a pyramid. One Cargo Manifest opens one container. When you find the surprise gift, the freighter is cleared, the board wipes, a new freighter sails in, and your progress counter resets to zero.

📦 The Board

25 containers. 24 commons plus 1 surprise gift. The gift can sit in any of the 25 — there is no reserved slot and no pattern to read.

🎫 The Cost

1 Cargo Manifest per container, flat. There is no daily inspection cap — your Manifest balance is the only limit.

The 24 Common Rewards

Twelve items, each holding two of the 24 common slots. This is the guaranteed floor on every Manifest you spend.

Before you pick a gift the board shows you this list as a preview, one item per container, and every inspection is blocked. Pick a gift first or nothing happens when you tap.

02. The Guarantee

Two rules decide when your gift turns up, and the game explains neither one clearly. The first is the draw weight — every container you open is rolled, and the gift is a rare result that gets less rare the deeper you go into a freighter. The second is the guarantee — a hard stop that hands you the gift once you have opened enough containers on that freighter. The second rule is the one that matters, because it turns the event into a fixed price.

Rule 1 — How A Container Is Rolled

The 24 commons are a fixed list, but the container you tap tells you nothing about which one you get. The server decides the contents when the container opens, so there is no layout to read and no order to play. Every common reward still left on the board carries a draw weight of 10. Your surprise gift carries a weight of its own, and it starts at 2 on a fresh freighter. The chance the container holds the gift is the gift's weight against all the weight still on the board.

On your first inspection that is 2 against 24 commons at 10 each — 2 in 242, or roughly 0.8%. By your 13th inspection the gift's weight has climbed to 10 and only 12 commons are left, so it is 10 in 130, or roughly 7.7%. The gift never becomes likely. It becomes guaranteed.

Those two percentages are ours, not the game's. The game shows you the weights and never the odds. Its Probability tab lists the gift at 2 and every common at 10, and the climb to 5, 10 and 20 appears only as a line of prose in the Rules tab. Nothing in the game divides those numbers for you, and the roll itself happens on the server.

Rule 2 — What The Guarantee Is

The guarantee is a pity counter, one per freighter. Open 14 containers on a Common Freighter and you have the gift, however cold the rolls run. On an Ocean Freighter the count is 22. That is why this guide quotes a price instead of odds — the worst case is fixed, and you can budget for it.

💡 What The Counter Under The Grid Means

The line reading "guaranteed after N more inspections" is simply the threshold minus the containers you have already opened on this freighter. It resets to full on every new freighter, so a long dry streak never carries forward.

The game's two rules screens disagree on whether the gift lands exactly on that inspection or merely by it. Budget for "by it" and you are safe either way.

Read the guarantee as a price tag, not as a safety net. The weight starts so low that early inspections almost never find the gift, and on a Common Freighter it only reaches 10 — level with a single common — at inspection 13, one before the guarantee fires. In practice most Common Freighters end at the guarantee, not before it.

The Weight Ladder

The gift's weight climbs in four steps as you work through a single freighter, then resets when the freighter changes.

Inspections On This FreighterGift WeightReads As
1 – 62Effectively dead
7 – 125Still thin
13 – 1810Level with a common
19 – 2520Double a common

The last rung never applies on a Common Freighter. That board is guaranteed at 14, so it never reaches inspection 19. Weight 20 only exists on an Ocean Freighter, which runs as far as 22.

03. The Ocean Freighter

The Ocean Freighter is sold as a trade-off — double the gift, but the guarantee slides from 14 to 22. Do the division and it is not a trade-off at all. Twenty-two Manifests for a doubled gift is 11 Manifests per unit of gift. Fourteen Manifests for a single gift is 14. Even at its own worst case, the Ocean Freighter is 21% cheaper per unit of reward than a Common Freighter.

🌊 Ocean Freighter

Gold ship, night dock. Every gift count is exactly doubled. Guaranteed by inspection 22. Worst case: 11 Manifests per gift.

An Ocean Freighter docks whenever your cleared-freighter count is a multiple of five — freighter 5, 10, 15, and so on. Everything about the scene changes: gold hull instead of blue, night instead of day, a different container skin. That visual switch is your only warning that this board will run longer.

The 25-container pyramid of an Ocean Freighter, in the gold container skin
Gold containers mean an Ocean board — budget up to 22 Manifests.

There is no decision here. You cannot skip an Ocean Freighter, cannot opt into one early, and cannot abandon a freighter part-way through. The rotation is fixed, so the only thing you control on an Ocean board is which gift is sitting in it — and the counts double uniformly, so your best gift on a Common Freighter is still your best gift here.

The practical consequence is budgeting, not tactics. Every fifth board needs up to eight more Manifests than the four before it. If you are running your balance to zero, run it to zero on a Common Freighter and start the Ocean board with a full stock.

04. The Work Log

A Cargo Manifest

The Work Log's daily payout is tuned to an exact target, and the target is five cleared freighters. Claim all four tasks for all three days and you bank 78 Manifests. Clearing freighters 1 through 5 at the worst possible luck costs 14 + 14 + 14 + 14 + 22 — which is 78 exactly. That is not a coincidence.

Those freighter counts are worst-case floors — good luck gets you further on either path. But the free path stalls at three cleared freighters and leaves six Manifests stranded, while the full path lands you exactly on freighter 5, which is an Ocean Freighter paying a doubled gift, and clears the 5-freighter milestone at the same time. One purchase buys two milestones and a double payout.

Refresh And Reissue

05. The Surprise Gift

An open shipping container holding the surprise gift

Switching your gift is free, unlimited, instant, and has no confirmation prompt. Changing your pick mid-freighter costs nothing and never resets your inspection progress. A stray tap on Confirm alone is harmless — the window opens on the gift you already hold, and Confirm does nothing at all until you have picked something. Tap a different item first, though, and Confirm swaps your gift with nothing asking you if you meant it.

You choose one item from a short list before you inspect anything. That item becomes the 25th container. You can swap it at any point right up until it is found on the current freighter. The only time the button is locked is during the roughly four seconds of ship-change animation between freighters.

Gift Candidates

The list depends on how old your server is, not on how far into the event you are. Newer servers see four options; servers on day 70 or later see five, with every count raised.

🎯 Pick Once And Leave It

Every count doubles on an Ocean Freighter, so the ranking of the gifts never changes between freighter types. Switching to chase the bigger number is pointless — the bigger number is bigger on all of them. Choose the item your account actually needs and stop touching the button.

06. Auto-Inspect

Auto-Inspect has no spend limit and no low-balance warning. It opens one container every half second until something stops it, and running out of Manifests is one of the things that stops it. A free three-day stockpile of 48 Manifests empties in 24 seconds.

It is still the right way to play. There is no x5 or x10 button anywhere in this event, so manual play is one tap per Manifest. Auto-Inspect is the only way to clear a 14-container freighter without fourteen taps.

✓ It Always Stops At The Freighter Line

Auto-Inspect halts the moment a freighter clears. It cannot run past a completed board and start spending on the next one unless you leave the checkbox ticked on the Rewards Obtained popup, which restarts it on the new freighter.

Every Way It Stops

⭐ The Safe Way To Use It

Untick the auto-continue box on the Rewards Obtained popup unless you deliberately want to chain freighters. With it unticked, one Auto-Inspect run costs you at most one freighter's worth of Manifests and hands control back every time a board clears.

07. Cumulative Rewards

The milestone ladder counts freighters cleared, not Manifests spent — and it runs all the way to 100. A full three-day run with every task claimed clears about five to six freighters. The top of this ladder is not reachable in one event by any free path.

Nothing in the game resets the cleared-freighter counter between event runs, which suggests the ladder is a long-term track that carries across repeats rather than a per-run one. Treat that as an unconfirmed inference until the event has run twice — if the counter does reset, only the first four or five milestones are ever realistically in play.

Milestones are claimed one at a time from the Cumulative Inspection Rewards window. There is no claim-all, and a milestone you have not reached shows a greyed button rather than an explanation. Claim everything you have earned before the event closes.

08. Common Mistakes

  • ▸ Ending the event with Manifests left. The Cargo Manifest has exactly one use, and it disappears with the event. Spend down to zero before the timer runs out.
  • ▸ Fourth Task Value — Members Only
  • ▸ Reading the Probability screen as the whole story. It prints the opening weight of 2 and never mentions that the weight reaches 20. The gift is far more findable late on a board than that screen implies.
  • ▸ Leaving Auto-Inspect running on a thin balance. One Manifest every half second, no cap, no warning. Check your stock before you start it.
  • ▸ Browsing the Select Gift window with a loose thumb. Confirm on its own is safe, but there is no "are you sure" prompt. Tap another item and then Confirm, and your gift changes with nothing telling you.
  • ▸ Waiting to start until day three. Work Log tasks reset at 00:00 server time and do not stack. A skipped day is 26 Manifests you can never claim.
  • ▸ Forgetting to claim the Cumulative rewards. They are claimed manually, one at a time, from their own window — clearing the freighters does not hand them to you.

TL;DR — The Quick Hits

  1. 1. Every Manifest pays out. Twenty-four of 25 containers hold a common reward, so an inspection never returns nothing.
  2. 2. The guarantee is the price tag: a Common Freighter ends by inspection 14, an Ocean Freighter by 22. Budget against those two numbers.
  3. 3. The gift's weight starts at 2 against 240 points of common weight. Early inspections effectively never find it.
  4. 4. The Ocean Freighter is a straight upgrade, not a trade-off — 11 Manifests per gift unit against 14 on a Common Freighter.
  5. 5. Every fifth cleared freighter is an Ocean Freighter. Gold ship, night dock, doubled gift counts.
  6. 6. Free Track Budget — Members Only
  7. 7. All four tasks pay 26 a day, 78 total — the exact worst-case cost of clearing freighters 1 through 5.
  8. 8. Freighter 5 is an Ocean Freighter, so the full Work Log path lands on a doubled gift and the 5-freighter milestone together.
  9. 9. Auto-Inspect burns 1 Manifest every half second with no cap and no low-balance warning. A 48-Manifest stock lasts 24 seconds.
  10. 10. Untick the auto-continue box on the rewards popup and Auto-Inspect can never overrun past one freighter.
  11. 11. Switching your gift is free, unlimited, and never resets your progress. Confirm alone cannot change it, but there is no "are you sure" prompt once you tap a different item.
  12. 12. Gift counts double uniformly on Ocean Freighters, so your best pick never changes. Choose once for your account's bottleneck and leave it.
  13. 13. Servers on day 70 or later get a fifth gift option, Premium Whistle, and higher counts on everything else.
  14. 14. Progress on a freighter is saved between sessions, so there is no reason to hoard Manifests and no penalty for stopping halfway.
  15. 15. Cargo Manifests have no use outside this event. Spend every one before it closes — anything mailed to you afterwards is dead weight.
